Much-celebrated creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, better known as Raj and DK are once again partnering with the streaming platform Netflix for an ambitious action-thriller web series titled ‘Rakt Brahman – The Bloody Kingdom’ with an impressive cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Samantha, and Wamiqa Gabbi with Ali Fazal suspected to have joined the cast.
The duo’s production company, D2R Films, is coming back to Netflix in partnership with director Rahi Anil Barve and long-time collaborator Sita R Menon with a story set in a fantastical kingdom, which promises an edgy and gripping narrative, appealing visuals combined with bloody action sequences. The project is in its initial stages and the filming and casting of the series commences soon.
While speaking of the show’s release on Netflix, Raj and DK shared their intention to develop a fictional world that is a blend of the original one, as well as those from the fantastical tales we have heard in our childhood. They shared excitement about working with the very talented Rahi and the versatile collaborator Sita. They claimed that the series carries an unconventional vision and expressed gratitude to Netflix for the support to back it.
Moreover, the Vice President of Content Netflix India, Monika Shergill shared that after the outstanding success of the genre-bending series ‘Guns & Gulaabs, Netflix is thrilled to partner up with creative geniuses Raj and DK for another defining series. She claimed that ‘Rakt Brahman – The Bloody Kingdom’ will be Netflix India’s first-ever mega action-fantasy thriller series. The mega series is expected to be released later in the year 2025. The film shooting is set to begin next week in Mumbai.
Raj and DK are acclaimed creators, directors, writers, and producers, best known for their shows, ‘The Family Man’, ‘Farzi’ and ‘Guns & Gulaabs’. The duo has also made many films including, ‘Go Goa Gone’, ‘Happy Ending’, ‘Shor In The City’, and ‘The Gentleman’, and have contributed to the writing of the film ‘Stree’. They both were born and brought up in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh and graduated from the SVU College of Engineering, where the duo first met. They later moved to the US to pursue software engineering.
