While the fans are desperately awaiting the third season of Mirzapur since four years, their wait has finally come to an end with the Mirzapur Season 3 releasing on July 5 exclusively on Amazon Prime. The character of Guddu Bhaiya portrayed by Ali Fazal has been coming out to be physically and mentally stronger with each season.
During an interview, Ali Fazal was asked how he managed to be bulky and strong at the same time and was there any pressure on you for the transformation. He replied that there was no pressure as the story of Mirzapur is going on a way where the character of Guddu bhaiya needs a certain bulk and strong image. He says that it is definitely challenging but he gives 20% attention to that stuff not more. During the shooting of season one of Mirzapur, the character of Guddu Bhaiya was in a grieving and mourning zone so according to that feelings the body transformation took place. Season 2 saw a Guddu bhaiya in a avatar who now understands the game so according to that Ali Fazal made his body transform. Now for season 3, audience will see a strong Guddu bhaiya so the body transformation is something people are waiting to see.
Ali Fazal said that body transformation is not something that is kind of a health hazard but there has been some injuries while shooting Mirzapur. Ali clarifies that due to his excitement level he sometimes got injured. Moreover, he said that their team is quite safe and action choreography this season is very interesting.
Ali Fazal began training with the fitness coach Rohit Nair. He helped Ali gain a bulky frame for Mirzapur 3. An extensive fitness routine was set for Ali Fazal which helped him gain 10 kilograms in eight months for the role of Guddu bhaiya. Ali’s workout routine included strength training with resistance exercises, progressive overload, balanced development of major muscle groups, static stretching and mobility drills.
When talking about how the director Gurmmeet Singh thought about actors like Pankaj, Ali, Divyenndu, Shweta, etc. the director said that Ali Fazal was approached to play the character of Munna but after reading the script, Ali said he wanted to portray the character of Guddu Bhaiya. The director said that the old characters played by Ali Fazal were quite different from this choice of Ali but they were confident with him so they went ahead and casted Ali as Guddu Bhaiya. After Ali’s casting all the casts fell into place.
