James Gracey’s tragic death
For those who do not know, James Gracey made headlines when he went missing during his trip to Spain. The 20-year-old college student, who was reportedly an ice hockey player, had gone to Spain with his friends. If a report by People Magazine is believed to be true, James was last seen on March 17, 2026, near the Shoko nightclub in Barcelona.
Later, he got separated from his friends and unfortunately never returned. When he wasn’t found, his friends filed a police complaint. Eventually, the police recovered his phone. Further, his wallet was found floating in the sea, which raised doubts that he may have fallen in water. Sadly, on March 19, 2026, James Gracey’s body was found. While the final autopsy has not been done, reports claim that James died due to accidental drowning.

After James Gracey tragically passed away, his relatives shared their first statement with People Magazine. In the same, they revealed that James was a beloved son, grandson, nephew and more. They also revealed that James’ family is still heartbroken by his tragic death. Further, they requested privacy. According to People Magazine, the statement was:
“Jimmy was a deeply loved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, and our family is struggling to come to terms with this unimaginable loss. As we navigate this painful time, we kindly ask for privacy so that we may grieve together and begin to process his loss as a family.”

Moments after James Gracey’s news of his death made rounds on social media, his girlfriend, Kenna Cohen shared a TikTok video. In the same, she shared some unseen photos of James and penned a heartfelt note for him. On March 20, 2026, an X (formerly Twitter) user shared screenshots from Kenna’s TikTok. In her note, Kenna revealed that she is grateful that she could witness James’ last six months. According to a report by the Hindustan Times, Kenna Cohen’s tribute note can be read as:
“Forever in debt for having been lucky enough to be loved by the most pure-hearted, sweet, devoted, and selfless soul. I so badly wish I could rewind time, but I am so grateful I was able to witness the last six months of your incredible life. James Gracey, you truly were a blessing, and every moment I spent with you felt nothing less than that. Please continue to pray for the Gracey family and keep Jimmy’s memory close to your hearts. Fly high, my angel.”
Who is Kenna Cohen?
If a report by Hindustan Times is to be believed, Kenna Cohen is 21 years old. Reportedly, she grew up in Atlanta and is currently a student at the University of Georgia. According to Daily Mail, she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in human development. Talking about her relationship with James, the duo were dating for the past six months. They made their first appearance at the Phi Mu graduation ball and later attended the SEC Championship college football game. It is also worth mentioning that Kenna used to do a part-time job in travel fashion sales. Reportedly, she did not accompany James to Spain as it was a boys trip.
