Did Jason Earles lie about his age to get the role in Hannah Montana?
Recently, the much-loved actor, Jason Earles appeared on a podcast, during which he revealed that he lied to the makers of Hannah Montana to get the role. For the unversed, he played the role of a 16-year-old ‘Jackson Stewart’. However, the actor explained that he lied about his age. He told the makers that he was 18-years-old, while in reality he was 28. He was quoted as saying:
“I was desperately afraid that I was going to be fired and recast because I had a big secret. When I auditioned for the show, I lied to them and told them I was 18 years old.”
Further, he stated that the makers of Hannah Montana did not get to know about his secret for a long time. However, one night the executive of the show found out about his age. Later, the executive also questioned Jason about his then-wife, Jennifer. In his words:
“I remember one of the higher-up network executives showed up on show night and he was like, ‘Hey, so you’re 28. And I was like, I am. I was like, Yeah, that girl that I keep making out with? That’s my wife. (The executive) was like, Any more secrets? Anything we should know? I was like, No. He’s like, Do you have any kids? And I was like, No kids. He’s like, Let’s go ahead and keep it that way for a few years.”
Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special to release soon
The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, which is all set to premiere on March 24, 2026, will be a celebration of the show that turned Miley Cyrus into a global star overnight. As the name suggests, it marks 20 years of the show and reportedly, it will be released on Hulu. Viewers can expect multiple nostalgic moments, behind-the-scenes and some star performances.
Apart from this, viewers can also expect Miley Cyrus to share some interesting stories from her character. Recently, the trailer of the same was released, in which Miley Cyrus was seen having a conversation with Alex Cooper. During the same, the global singer opened up about the impact Hannah Montana had on her personal and professional life. If reports are to be believed, viewers can also expect a reunion of a few cast members of the much-loved show.
