The new documentary features Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian, opening up about their marriage and some other facts that remained unknown to everyone over the years. For the unversed, Khloe and Lamar separated almost ten years ago in 2016. They tied the knot in 2009. Khloe was later romantically linked to Tristan Thompson from 2016 to 2021.

Why Lamar Odom wanted to marry Khloe Kardashian?
As per the new documentary, Lamar Odom’s decision to exchange vows with Khloe Kardashian was not because he had feelings for the famous television personality. It was because Lamar aimed to live a lifestyle similar to that of the Kardashian family. The NBA star mentioned the same by saying that he was satisfied with everything that he achieved as Lamar Odom. He further stated that he just aimed to see how Khloe was living and felt like it was the place he wanted to be. Lamar continued:
“I think that was like a power trip for me, ’cause you took the power I had [as an NBA player]and then Kardashian power. When you add ’em…”
However, Lamar Odom admitted that he was not ready for the power that came with being a part of the Kardashian family. Anthony “Pumpkin” Booker, a childhood friend of Lamar, also recalled the time when he attended Odom and Kardashian’s marriage ceremony. According to Page Six, Anthony claimed that Lamar’s actions were aimed at securing a better future, since the Kardashian family was well-connected with many popular figures.

While speaking to Page Six in March 2026, Lamar Odom opened up on the possibilities of a reconciliation with Khloe Kardashian. He said that everything happens for a reason, adding that he can never forget Khloe, even if he is romantically linked to someone else in the future. Lamar continued by stating that situations change in everyone’s life, and he is trying to be the best every day. Lamar also said that after considering the ups and downs that he and Khloe went through, it has allowed him to treat Khloe in a better way than he used to.
Despite having a successful career in the world of the NBA, Lamar Odom struggled with his addiction issues over the years. Notably, the addiction battle has also been discussed in the Netflix documentary. Lamar Odom recalled the early days by describing himself as an individual who was “caught up” in addiction. Lamar referred to a moment from the documentary where Khloe Kardashian gave him a choice to enter rehab or take a divorce, and said:
“I can’t really remember that… my brain did suffer a tremendous amount of injury while I was in a coma. I loved that lifestyle. But, I was really good at being a drug addict. I don’t know if I would give up that lifestyle or drugs. But obviously, if that came out of my mouth, that was a decision that I made, and it was a poor decision.”
