When and how India books an Uber
The report shows clear patterns in how Indians move. 6 PM emerged as the most popular time to book an Uber, as office-goers, shoppers and evening social plans converge. Fridays remained the busiest day of the week, while November saw the highest overall demand. The single busiest day of the year was December 12, 2025, when Uber recorded its highest number of trips in India, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it was also a Friday.
For Uber Rentals, the two-hour package continued to be the most popular choice, reflecting short, errand-heavy travel across cities.
Cities that move differently
Late-night travel told its own story. Mumbai and Kolkata emerged as the country’s biggest night owls, recording the highest number of late-night trips. When it came to weekend travel, Mumbai, Guwahati and Chennai saw the highest share of rides booked on Saturdays and Sundays.
Office-hour travel, however, peaked elsewhere. Bhubaneswar and Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest proportion of rides during working hours.

Traffic may be a national complaint, but some cities moved faster than others. Bhubaneswar emerged as India’s fastest city by average speed, followed by Thiruvananthapuram, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh.
Intercity travel and road-trip favourites
Intercity travel continued to grow, especially for short getaways. Mumbai–Pune topped the list of the most popular intercity routes, followed by Delhi–Agra and Bangalore–Mysore. Tourist destinations such as Agra, Mysore, Puri and Lonavala emerged as favourites for Uber Intercity trips.
Some riders took the long way — literally. The longest journey recorded was a Gurgaon–Ahmedabad–Gurgaon round trip spanning 1,827 km, followed by multiple marathon trips starting from Delhi to cities like Ahmedabad, Srinagar and Prayagraj.

EVs, premium rides and logistics gain ground
Green mobility gained momentum in 2025. Indians travelled 365 million kilometres in Uber EVs, spending 54 million hours in electric vehicles over the year.
Premium rides also saw steady growth. Uber Black clocked over 34 million kilometres, with airport transfers and work travel emerging as its top use cases across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
Beyond passengers, Uber saw around three million users trying the service for the first time in 2025. Deliveries peaked between 1 PM and 3 PM, with one power user alone completing 5,218 deliveries during the year.
Even pets were on the move
