Ncuti Gatwa is garnering praise from all around for his performance as the 15th Doctor. In just his 4th episode as The Doctor in the long running and massively popular science fiction show Doctor Who, he has already delivered what is being called as the greatest performance as The Doctor in its 61 year history by the ‘Whovians’. The episode titled ‘Boom’ shows The Doctor and his latest companion Ruby Sunday(Millie Gibson) on a war torn planet that he has to save while standing on a land mine that might blow at any second.
Fans are in awe of the storytelling and the performance of The Doctor and his companion. Ex-showrunner Stephen Moffat’s writing is also being praised for tackling important challenging issues that plague our society. While there were some naysayers when the Sex Education star was selected for the role, Ncuti has been gaining praise ever since his first appearance.
Fans are going gaga over the latest episode Boom on X(formerly Twitter).

WOW WOW WOW
What happens when you get Ncuti Gatwa to stand on a land mine for a 45 minute episode of Doctor Who with no movement?
A phenomenal performance.
What an outstanding actor. #DoctorWho pic.twitter.com/StIf4sABtI
My favorite episode since Peter Capaldi's run. I'll admit, I've been a Steven Moffat girlie since it was cool to hate him, but this episode is gripping, tense, and electrifying. Moffat delivers. Ncuti Gatwa is INCREDIBLE. Fifteen is becoming one of my fave Doctors.#DoctorWho https://t.co/fPwAW0Mmxt pic.twitter.com/Q817OWO9Oa
this scene alone solidified fifteen as one of my top 3 favourite doctors (just under eleven and twelve) i was falling in love with him already but this really felt like his moment 😍

NCUTI GATWA COME AND COLLECT YOUR AWARDS HOLY SHIT pic.twitter.com/pkQbylJ0yq
'Boom' shows what you can do with a bottle-episode. It packs as much tension and emotional punch as a full special. Ncuti Gatwa finally shows off his incredible range and went full Capaldi this episode. #DoctorWho pic.twitter.com/9A1tqDWsdB
The episode was aired on May 18 on BBC in the UK and on Disney+ across the world. The episode contained references to the previous iterations of the Doctor and also continued the storyline of the mystery around Ruby Sunday and her past. While Ncuti Gatwa was already becoming a fan favourite, he is now cementing his legacy as one of the best versions of The Doctor. After the latest episode, fans eagerly await what will this new era bring next.
