Popular singer Sonu Nigam has recently released a video telling how he narrowly escaped a bomb blast in Karachi, Pakistan in 2004. The singer was to give a performance in Karachi, but just before reaching the venue, an explosion occurred behind his car, in which case some Pakistanis saved his life.
Sonu Nigam has released a video related to a concert held in Karachi on 10 April 2004 from the official Instagram account. Actually, Sonu Nigam had reached Karachi with his family in April 2004. He stayed there for 6 days, shopping and roaming around. On April 10, he was to perform in the show of Geo channel. He had just reached the venue by bus with his family and team when suddenly a bomb exploded in the parking area. His bus quickly went towards the ground and when he raised an alarm, the security surrounded him.
The security team took him to the Marina Hotel located near the venue, where the staff welcomed him and made him sit in the lobby and entertained him.
In the video released from Sonu Nigam’s account, there is also the statement of the organizer of that show, who is saying, when we told in Marina Hotel that we have to stay here for a while, Sonu Nigam is with us, he became very happy. The staff said, hey, it’s Sonu Nigam, you bring him inside. We took Sonu inside, he sat in the lobby, Sonu was relaxed. He was obviously very upset. There these people coordinated with the security, so there were two ways, one to go through security from here and go back to the hotel, and the other to go to the venue.
Despite this major accident, Sonu’s team decided to go to the venue instead of canceling the show. Sonu was taken to the venue by doubling the security. Before him, Pakistani singer Arshad Mehmood had to sing 5 songs. His performance was over, but Sonu was nervous, so the organizer asked Arshad Mehmood to continue the performance. After some time, when Sonu Nigam heard the noise of 5 thousand people while being backstage, he himself reached the stage to perform.
Sonu Nigam said on the stage, ‘I just want to say that the people of India and Pakistan have been very unlucky, who were missing so much love and now they are getting this love, whether in Pakistan or India. This is very beautiful.
Pakistani singer Amjab Sabri, while talking about this incident in Daniel Shaikh’s podcast, had said that while leaving Pakistan after this concert, Sonu had said, if I was attacked here, then Pakistanis also saved me.
Let us tell you that in this blast in Karachi, one person was killed, while three were badly injured.
