The update marks the most significant upgrade to the Punch since its introduction, with prices starting at ₹5.59 lakh.
Speaking at the launch, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors, said the Punch was the highest-selling product of 2024, underscoring its strong acceptance across markets. “The Punch belongs to all of India,” Chandra said, adding that Tata Motors has emerged as the second-largest passenger vehicle brand in the country.
A key highlight of the facelift is the introduction of the Tata Punch iTurbo. The micro-SUV will now be offered with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 120 PS of maximum power and 170 Nm of peak torque, making it the most powerful Punch yet.
The turbo-petrol option is aimed at customers looking for stronger on-road performance without stepping up to a larger SUV.
Alongside the turbo variant, the Punch continues with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, and Tata Motors has also introduced a CNG AMT option, a segment-first. Transmission choices include 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearboxes.
Design and exteriorThe 2026 Punch facelift adopts a more SUV-like and contemporary design inspired by Tata’s newer models. It features updated LED headlamps, sleeker LED DRLs, a revised 3D front grille, a bull-guard-style front bumper, and SUV cladding that enhances its muscular stance. At the rear, the Punch now gets a connected lightbar with new LED tail lamps, while new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels add to the refreshed look.
Interior and cabin layout
Inside, the Punch now comes with a dual-tone interior theme aimed at delivering a more premium feel. The cabin features a smart digital steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster, redesigned air vents and a CentraLuxe centre console with armrest. Rear seat comfort has been improved with the addition of a rear armrest, while the overall layout focuses on better ergonomics and everyday usability.
Features and technology
The Punch facelift is equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity, and over 45 connected car features including remote commands, trip data, vehicle health monitoring, alerts and navigation support. Additional features include 360-degree parking camera, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lamps with cornering function, four speakers with tweeters, Xpress Cool, Idle Start/Stop, two driving modes, and paddle shifters on select variants.
Safety and powertrain options
Safety continues to be a key strength of the Punch. The facelifted model comes with six airbags as standard, along with ESC, ABS, TPMS, reverse parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera. Tata Motors has confirmed that the new Punch has secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for both adult and child occupant protection.
The 2026 Tata Punch is offered with three powertrain choices. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 73.4 bhp and 103 Nm and is available with a 5-speed manual and AMT. The CNG variant delivers 87.8 bhp and 115 Nm and is offered with manual and AMT transmissions, making it India’s first SUV with a CNG-AMT combination. The new Punch iTurbo produces 120 bhp and 170 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Performance and practicality
Tata Motors claims the Punch facelift can accelerate from 0–100 kmph in 11.1 seconds, with a power-to-weight ratio of 105 PS per tonne. The Punch also offers segment-leading boot space, with 366 litres in petrol variants and 210 litres in CNG variants. A commanding seating position, 73% all-round visibility, and strong ground clearance further add to its practicality.

The 2026 Tata Punch facelift is offered in Smart, Pure, Pure Plus, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished+ S variants. Prices start at ₹5.59 lakh ex-showroom.
